FARM and GARDEN

We’re a small scale family farm growing flowers, vegetables, and herbs. We’ve planted hundreds of peonies and farming will resume in 2027.

Animals come and go based on kidding, seasons, stocking. Any onsite though are accustomed to guests and feel free to interact. Goats, sheep, and birds rejoined our flock in 2026. They’re often let out to free range. Everyone is friendly except the grumpy ole sheep.

RETAIL

We are expanding! In 2026 we will be offering a vast assortment of garden supplies – seasonal vegetable starters, hanging baskets and containers, perennials, and so much more.

We also consult for fresh floral arrangements!

And, our retail offerings are growing. We have meticulously curated a variety of home, garden, seasonal, nature-based, and specialty gift items. Our renovated barn will be open to the public on weekends.

AMENITIES

We have a gym, nature-based playground for the youngsters, games, a camp store selling provisions and luxuries, gathering pavilion, short loop trail, and river access for kayaks and rafts.

A few of our units have hot tubs and we’re building a treehouse sauna for 2027!

CAMP FREE OR DIE

At Baker Rocks, Camp Free or Die is our business, but it’s also an ethos – a way of life – a mindset – a personality.

Being free of encumbrances, confinement, pollution; being free to enjoy the landscape in its natural form, find harmony with wildlife, stand in awe of the beauty. It’s about creating a space that blends and respects nature and is where we want to wake up every day. Just get out there. Enjoy the space, take a moment to see it all.

Mother Nature has provided a pretty amazing canvas. Walk our trails and you will see a variety of natural flowers, wild strawberries, animal habitats, forests, wetlands, and so much more. We are committed to keeping things rustic and beautiful, while also providing access and minimal enhancement.

From almost every vantage, you stand (or sit) in awe of the mountains and sky. The fog rolls in just above the tree line and as the sun rises, the mountains are exposed. Summer nights bring intense sunsets of pink, purple, and orange. Fall in New England is exquisite and the colors here do not disappoint. Stargazing is breathtaking year round! The deer, turkey, beavers, otters, bear, and occasional moose peacefully coexist.
