FAQs
What are your check-in and out times?: Check-in at 3-6pm and check-out by 11am. If you need to check-in later, we ask that you contact us via email or text. What is your pet policy?: We allow up to two pets per site, for a fee. Owners are responsible for ensuring pets are up to date on vaccines and watched at all times on site. Do you have air conditioning?: Only our Awkwaaba Cabin has air conditioning. Our yurt, dome, tents, and all campsite are without electricity and access a shared bathhouse. The yurt and dome do have wood stoves for early spring and fall nights. Is there Wifi?: Cabins have wifi. Wifi for camp accommodations may be accessed at the store and barn areas. Cell service is intermittent. Will there be bugs?: Absolutely. We do not use toxic chemicals on our property. During peak tick season we weekly spray camp sites with permethrin, but we do not commercially spray. You are IN nature. Come prepared. We suggest a "natural" oil body repellent - SSS, Sawyer Products, or Ranger Ready and outdoor foggers/Thermacell for your tent and picnic area. Is there river access?: We have two beaches (one is a longer, rougher walk but more secluded) that may be accessed for swimming, tubing, kayaking, and relaxing. What shouldn't I forget?: Good shoes, flip-flops, rain gear (just in case), extra blankets/towels, bug spray, sunscreen, hat. What's included in the camp kitchen and linens package?: See our furnished camp tent page for the full listing. What do we do with trash?: Recycling is mandatory at Baker Rocks. We ask that you leave no trace at your site. Trash bins are provided at the store and bathhouse. Anything else?: Come prepared for the experience you want to have. Pack as though you are camping. Ensure you are mobile and comfortable enough for the site you choose (as many sites are remote, dark, and near the water).

NATURAL BEAUTY
Mother Nature has provided a pretty amazing canvas. Walk our trails and you will see a variety of natural flowers, wild strawberries, animal habitats, forests, wetlands, and so much more. We are committed to keeping things rustic and beautiful, while also providing access and minimal enhancement. From almost every vantage, you stand (or sit) in awe of the mountains and sky. The fog rolls in just above the tree line and as the sun rises, the mountains are exposed. Summer nights bring intense sunsets of pink, purple, and orange. Fall in New England is exquisite and the colors here do not disappoint. Stargazing is breathtaking year round! The deer, turkey, beavers, otters, bear, and occasional moose peacefully coexist.
AMENITIES
We have a gym, nature-based playground for the youngsters, wood-fired outdoor sauna (coming soon!), games, a camp store selling provisions and luxuries, a short hiking trail, and river access for kayaks and rafts.
CAMP FREE OR DIE
At Baker Rocks, Camp Free or Die is our business, but it’s also an ethos - a way of life - a mindset - a personality. Being free of encumbrances, confinement, pollution; being free to enjoy the landscape in its natural form, find harmony with wildlife, stand in awe of the beauty. It’s about creating a space that blends and respects nature and is where we want to wake up every day. Just get out there. Enjoy the space, take a moment to see it all.
